NATIONAL CYBER SIGNING DAY

Elevating Cybersecurity Students to the Level of Athletes

ABOUT

WHAT IS NATIONAL CYBER SIGNING DAY?

Just like signing days for athletes, the annual National Cyber Signing Day celebrates high school students & recent graduates as they make their commitments to some of the state and country’s top schools and companies in their pursuit of a cutting-edge career in cybersecurity. Featuring high energy music, students, industry representatives, and special guests, the National Cyber Signing Day Celebration demonstrates that excellence is not limited to sports teams; to practice, to achieve, and to compete in STEM industries demands rigor, integrity, and discipline, too.

The purpose of the National Cyber Signing Day celebration is to increase awareness of cybersecurity career options and pathways available to K-12th grade students. The event was created to recognize outstanding students across the nation who are inspired by cybersecurity and dedicated to pursuing a cybersecurity career pathway, as well as raise awareness of future career opportunities that K-12th grade students can pursue.

WHAT HAPPENS AT NATIONAL CYBER SIGNING DAY?

ThE 2025 National Cyber Signing Day will be a live celebration that will take place during the NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 8, 2025. The event will showcase K12 students and recent graduates who have recently participated in, or will soon be participating in cybersecurity-related internships, apprenticeships, trainings, and certifications. In sports announcer style, an emcee will introduce the students, and highlight their achievements, community involvement, and academic stats accompanied by sports-player style graphics and music. The students will answer interview questions and talk about their experiences.

The event's purpose is to show the stories of real students working in the cybersecurity industry because of opportunities provided by businesses and organizations. The program hopes to inspire companies, schools, teachers, and students across the US to engage in similar opportunities and celebrations of achievement.

NATIONAL CYBER SIGNING DAY HISTORY

The inaugural National Cyber Signing Day event, launched in 2018 in San Antonio, Texas at the NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference, was created in partnership between the conference host, iKeepSafe, and the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. The event concept was developed to elevate young leaders, showcase their STEM backgrounds, and highlight the industry's commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining skilled cybersecurity workers. Past National Cyber Signing Days have highlighted internships and employment opportunities with organizations such as Kudelski, AT&T, Mastercard, IBM, Texas A&M, Phillips College, Crowdstrike, Proctor & Gamble, Booz Allen Hamilton, Grand Canyon University, UTSA, and Coastline Community College. National Cyber Signing Day continues to evolve the conversation around cybersecurity, one student recognition at a time.
